Why Art?

Raina Macks, born in Virginia but grew up in Loxley Alabama. She received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of South Alabama in Criminal Justice.  Currently the Drug Court and Mental Health Court Coordinator for Baldwin County with her full time office in Bay Minette, Al. She lives with her husband, Chad Macks, in Robertsdale and they have a son, Aiden Macks at Southern Union. Always having an interest and love for art, especially dance in her younger years, Raina never had the desire to paint until later in life while coping with being a empty nester. With the encouragement from a friend with similar interests Raina decided to give it a try. Displaying in local boutiques, Fish River Furnishings and Art Gallery and Lupercalia Gallery. Raina loves to spend her newly found free time creating and experimenting with abstract and mixed media art. Releasing the days anxieties onto a canvas and seeing the results are somewhat of an addiction.

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.” ~Martha Graham, modern dancer and choreographer
